Your download should be in your browser’s download list

You are downloading the setup program for EG Certified Payroll (WH-347), software for preparing certified payroll (Form WH-347) that runs inside Microsoft Excel (trial). Setup shows the license agreement (EULA) before it installs anything. The one change it can make to Excel’s settings, adding its folder to Excel’s Trusted Locations, comes from a box that is ticked by default and that you can untick.

You are downloading EG Certified Payroll (WH-347) for Excel for Mac (trial): a single .xlsm workbook for preparing certified payroll (Form WH-347). Nothing is installed.

Download not started? Click here to download it now.

Rather not run a setup program, or your browser held the file back? Download the workbook on its own, a single .xlsm file. Nothing is installed and no Windows setting is changed: save it in a folder you back up, open it in Excel and allow its macros. It shows the same license agreement and checks in the same way.

What the setup program does

  • Installs the workbook and its icon in Documents\ExcelGurus\EG Certified Payroll (WH-347) (you can choose another folder), Start menu shortcuts, a desktop shortcut you can untick, and its uninstaller and settings in your Windows user profile. No administrator rights.
  • A box, ticked by default, adds that folder and its subfolders to Excel’s Trusted Locations, so the workbook normally opens with no macro warning. Untick it to leave Excel as it is.
  • Setup itself sends nothing. The workbook shows the license agreement again the first time it opens; once you accept it there, it tells our server that a copy has been opened, then checks in normally once a day when it is opened. These messages carry the product, its version, whether a license is active and anonymous identifiers, including a random installation ID that Setup keeps in your Windows user profile. They never carry anything from your spreadsheets (Privacy Policy).
  • To remove it: Installed apps in Windows Settings (Apps & features on Windows 10 and early Windows 11), or Uninstall in the ExcelGurus Start menu folder. That takes the folder back out of Excel’s Trusted Locations and asks whether to keep your files, including the payroll PDFs you saved there (uninstall steps).

Windows may show a SmartScreen notice the first time a new setup program runs. If it does, its details should name the publisher ExcelGurus LLC.

On a Mac

  • Save the workbook in a folder you back up, such as Documents, and open it in Excel for Mac (Microsoft 365 or Excel 2024).
  • When Excel asks, click Enable Macros (how to allow macros). The first time it opens it shows the license agreement (EULA), then checks in with our server as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Save PDF puts each payroll’s PDF in a Certified payrolls folder beside the workbook. The first time, macOS may ask you to let Excel save there.
  • To remove it, delete the workbook. Your payroll data is inside it; the Certified payrolls folder holds your PDFs.
  1. Step 1

    Open

When the download finishes, open the setup fileworkbook from your browser’s download list, at the top right of this window.

  2. Step 2

    Enable macros

Excel for Mac asks whether to enable the workbook’s macros. Click Enable Macros. Keep the workbook in a folder you back up, such as Documents, not in Downloads.

  3. Step 2

    Install

Click Next through setup, then Install. Setup asks about one Excel setting; What the setup program does, above, explains it.

A setup window showing only the two buttons to click: Next on each page, then Install on the Ready to Install page
  4. Step 3

    Start

Click Finish on setup’s last page, and Excel opens EG Certified Payroll (WH-347). Accept its license agreement, then click Load sample project on Home. It builds one project with six workers and one week of hours, with two mistakes in it for Check to find. Clear it from the same page when you are ready for your own data.
